1) ATTEND ALL THE IN-PERSON EVENTS YOU CAN (even if its only virtually!). The connections you make at these things dramatically improve the substance in later class and out of class discussions

Student Homepages

Its a popular activity in many online courses to have students go into blackboard and set up their "student homepages". The problem with this is this activity needs to be done for each and every class. Instead of going in each semester and GROWING your homepage (removing dead links, adding new photos, etc...) we are just adding the same boring blurbs about ourselves (I live in X, I work in Y, I want to achieve Z)
