Current student
About Me:
I work for the National Weather Service at our national training center in Kansas City, MO. We are starting to develop online training, so I figured a little education in the field would be a very good thing. I live in Lee's Summit, MO, and I am married and have 2 boys...16 and 13, who are in the 11th and 8th grades. We adopted 2 dogs this spring and are still learning about them...a chocolate lab and a maltese bichon...both about 18 months now.
I am anxious to see how social networking can have a role in adult training. Our employees are scattered across the country, yet some maintain lifelong friendships. We don't really offer them a way to communicate outside work other than occasional conferences. I think this has lots of potential to trigger incidental learning that can be translated into the real-time workplace.
I'll add a website when I get one up and running.
Have you used any "social networking" sites (Facebook, MySpace, etc.) before?
No
Graduation year (if applicable):

Dave,
Thanks for your note earlier this month. I was just saying hi and noted we had some things in common. Your job sounds interesting, but I'm very happy where I am and there are several opportunities for advancement here. So I'm not looking for a job change. If you are ever at Fort Leavenworth, look me up! I know all the good places for coffee. :D

Hi, Dave. We have 2 things in common: I also have a son in 8th grade, and we also have a lab (but yellow). Our lab is over 5 years old. Do your sons go to school in Platte County? I hear that's a good school district.
