About Me:
Hi! My name is Jennifer Hand and I am a Computer Science teacher in Manhattan, KS. I teach four different courses and I travel between two middle schools every day. I truly am mobile! This is why I need online education in order to complete my Masters. Before I became an educator, my career was in Broadcast Communication where I did video production, live broadcast and public relations. I started teaching by developing a TV production curriculum at a middle school. It was a great way to learn the profession and do what I love!
I moved from Florida to Kansas in July (2007) and started teaching in August so it was a little hectic. I now feel more settled and I am enjoying Kansas. I am married and have two sons. Chase lives in Vermont and my youngest, Kyle,is with us here in Kansas. He loves it here because he spends most of his time with his cousin. My husband is from Kansas and is a script writer so he can live anywhere. We also have a golden retriever named Rocky who is pretty cute.
I have been in this program since Summer 2008 and plan to complete in 2011. My goal with obtaining my Masters is to teach other teachers how to integrate technology into the curriculum in a meaningful way and help districts develop comprehensive programs. Later I would like to teach at a University level.
