Informal learning is great ;) I fondly recall sitting around Backstreets pizza with profs of the Classics & Humanities departments, and I still miss Macado's french onion soup.

About Me:
Greetings, my name is Jennifer Gibson and I anticipate finishing my IDT masters from Emporia State University in December 2009.
I have lived on the east and west coasts of the United States as well as in Europe, but currently reside in Lawrence, KS where my husband works at KU. My academic background is somewhat diverse as I attended a science and technology magnet high school but then focused primarily on liberal arts (humanities, classics, and medieval-renaissance studies concentrations) as an undergraduate at Virginia Tech. Instructional Design and Technology seems like a great way to forge my interests and skills into a career. At this time I am a full time graduate student. It is my hope to apply what I learn here to work in academia, the spheres of higher education and gifted education are most appealing to me but I am open to possibilities and could use some practical experience. I welcome stories and advice from instructional design veterans.
My hobbies include reading, travel, watching movies, and playing computer games with my husband, for almost a decade we have been active in massively multiplayer online games such as Everquest, World of Warcraft and Aion.
